Odoo integration with Mikrofin installment payments

A customer who does not have the full amount today is not a lost customer — if you can offer them installments before they leave the cart.

Installment payments in Bosnia and Herzegovina have long been common, but are rarely offered in online stores. A customer reaches the checkout, sees the amount, and leaves. If they do call, the worst part follows: send them to the branch, wait for the paperwork, call back, and only then create the order.

The other side of the same problem is risk. A merchant who ships goods before the credit is approved risks the application being refused after the parcel has already gone out.

That’s why we created the Mikrofin integration for Odoo: a module that places installment payments among other payment methods at checkout, and keeps the order on hold until the credit is approved.

What the Mikrofin integration specifically solves:

Installments as a payment method at checkout. The customer selects installment payment and immediately, without leaving the store, fills out a credit application in Mikrofin's form. The amount is taken from the order itself, so the customer cannot apply for an arbitrary amount.

The order waits for approval. While the credit is not approved, the order remains a quotation — no delivery order is created, no invoice is issued, nothing goes into preparation. If someone tries to confirm it manually, the system rejects it and explains why.

Approval in one click. When Mikrofin confirms the credit, "approved" is clicked on the order and it can immediately go into preparation if desired. Merchants who want to check stock or conditions beforehand can disable automatic confirmation with one setting.

A rejection does not leave the customer hanging. If the credit is denied, you can send the customer an email with a link to their order, where they can choose another payment method. Mikrofin is no longer offered on that order, so they cannot loop through the same refusal.

A clean record. The request ID is recorded on the order, making it easy to match with Mikrofin's side. Orders waiting for approval have their own filter, and refused orders can be automatically canceled after a specified number of days if desired.

Everything the customer enters remains between them and Mikrofin — the merchant only receives what they need to process the order.

The module does not stop there. We have sent Mikrofin an inquiry about an extension that would allow the approval or denial of the request to come back to Odoo. This would eliminate the last manual step — the order would be confirmed automatically as soon as the credit is approved.

If you sell goods that customers often pay for in installments, and that part of the business is still done over the phone, let us know.
